Russell Daniel Fenner, 39, was arraigned Monday in Lenawee County District Court on one count of larceny in a building. He is accused of stealing medication on Feb. 21 from a residence in Adrian, according to the arrest warrant. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 6.

Fenner has a pretrial hearing scheduled for Sept. 5 in Lenawee County Circuit Court in the earlier larceny in a building charge. Pretrials were adjourned July 18 and 25.
In the earlier case, a woman told Michigan State Police that Fenner came to her home in Adrian on March 21, wearing an Adrian Fire Department shirt and saying he wanted to check on how her husband was doing. The man was injured in a fall from his roof last June, and Fenner was one of the fire department personnel who treated him. The woman told police she saw Fenner pouring out a bottle of her husband’s Percocet pills into his hand.
Police said Fenner was on leave from the fire department at the time. City officials reported that Fenner is longer a city employee and has not been employed by the city since the end of April.
Fenner has pleaded not guilty to the charges. He is free on personal recognizance bonds.
